What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a technique used that relaxes the mind and body allowing direct communication with the subconscious. In an hypnotic state the subconscious mind is highly responsive to suggestion and direction. Changes can be achieved in just one session using techniques that reprogram old thought patterns which influence our day-to-day lives.

Hypnotherapy is a form of neuroscience that changes the neural pathways in your brain. When you experience negative & stressful emotions you go into what is called a high-beta brain frequency, commonly known as the fight or flight response. Because of our stressful, modern lives we spend a lot of time in beta-frequency, which impacts us both emotionally and  physically.

In a hypnotherapy session the techniques used bring you into what is called alpha-frequency that is a state of relaxation and theta-frequency when your body is asleep but your mind is awake. In these frequencies it is much easier for your brain to process information as the conscious mind is less active, dropping below its analytical and logical thinking allowing you to create deep, long lasting and profound change.

This incredibly quick way of working can be effective in just one session for things like quitting smoking, fears and phobias. Up to three sessions may be required for deeper issues such as anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
